Givaat asaf

Givaat Asaf was founded 20 years ago after the murder of Asaf Hershkovitz. The community is a busy religious community with social events, mutual assistance and Torah studying integrated with work and settling the land.

Givaat Asaf overlooks the Judean Mountains, and an especially strategic point on route 60.

Givat Asaf Security Campaign

Dear Friends and Family,

Our settlement, Givat Asaf, is located at a strategic intersection along Highway 60 – the main thoroughfare that connects the settlements of Eastern Binyamin and the Shomron, with Jerusalem. Our physical presence here is what prevents an Arab overtaking of this junction – something that, G-d forbid, could endanger any Jewish travellers on this vital route.

After what happened on Simchat Torah, we have all come to recognize how critical it is for the settlements to be prepared for the worst. Well-trained Emergency Security teams, and quality materiel, are of the utmost importance at the moment of truth.

In Givat Asaf, we are working around the clock at improving the defenses of the yishuv. Nevertheless, there remains much to be done, and some of the things we have been advised to install are very costly.

We are not talking about frills or excesses; we are talking about devices that will enable thorough, reliable, and constant surveillance of the entire vulnerable perimeter of the yishuv. In particular security experts have strongly advised us to acquire and install Thermal Imaging Security Cameras, all across and around Givat Asaf. But the estimated cost of such an expenditure is approximately $60,000 (sixty thousand US dollars).

In an effort to make this – along with other security measures – possible, we have launched a campaign to raise some three-hundred and fifty thousand NIS.

In order to reach our goal, any help from you would be greatly appreciated. Even a small donation can help. Be partners with us in our determination to insure that what happened on Simchat Torah will happen never again !

Thank you for your attention,

Givat Asaf

Givaat Asaf Mikvah

With the founding of Givaat Asaf the community decided to build the women’s Mikvah with the blessing and supervision of the Rav Mordechi Eliyahu A”h.

Building the Mikvah in this place required complicated halachic solutions and siaata dishmaya was felt through the whole process.

After 20 years the Mikvah requires renovation, and we see you as our partners in this important mitzvah and in strengthening the settlement of the land of Israel.

[Every] man [shall bring] as much as he can afford, according to the blessing of the Lord, your God, which He has given you.

We would be happy to dedicate your donation in the Mikvah, there is no doubt your donation will be a zchut for you

All the best from the family of Givaat Asaf
